This book makes a lot of
sense. If you use Windows or NT, this
little gem is worth adding to your desk top.
The author provides hints, tips, techniques to
make the most of your system - once you become
aware that if something goes wrong, it may not
always be a bug, but that you are not using the
powerful features properly, it becomes a pleasure
to use the system. The author puts you in charge
of your system. If restarting your computer is a
hassle, as it often is with Windows, learn a
number of ways of restarting your computer
without restarting your computer ! Even I
didn't know all the tricks ! Silence
your computer with a .WAV file. There are
hundreds of very useful tips, ready to make your
system respond to your wishes.
If you are not familiar with The Windows
Registry, you cannot take full advantage of
Windows. The guidance provided here is
invaluable. Many of the techniques and tips
covered in subsequent chapters require you to
have an understanding of The Registry.
