Two of the most important lessons I learnt from this book are:

Those who jump in and build a web site for the sake of having a presence on the Internet will disappear within months.

Those who think through the process of WHY they need a web site and WHAT benefits (business or personal enjoyment) they expect to achieve from it, will be successful and around for a long time to come.

My first web site was created using the information and knowledge I gained from an HTML guide to web design. I believed my web site was a fantastic creation that would have people flocking to it. I found out the hard way how wrong I was. If you want to avoid the embarrassment of making the same mistakes I recommend that you read "Build a Web Site in a Day". Sorry, you cannot have my copy even at twice the price.

This book made it very clear that there is a lot more to building, implementing and maintaining a truly professional, effective and entertaining web site. An easy to follow, step by step guide that provides you with what I believe are the most important aspects of launching and promoting a web site, regardless of whether you are a student or a corporate information officer.
